Fishingmalta runs fishing trips out of Malta. If you want to get top predators of the Mediterranean or fish for bottom table fare around the reefs and ledges, this crew of local fishermen has exactly that. All it takes is to come along and the skippers will make sure you have all the gear you need and will take you where the fish are. Your vessel for the day is a 33’ Targa boat that is powered by a 250 HP Volvo Penta engine. The boat is big enough to let up to eight anglers hop on and sample these fisheries with enough elbow room. The vessel is equipped with GPS, a fishfinder, has a all the safety gear, features a toilet, and carries a selection of rods, reels, and tackle. There is an ice box onboard where you can store the fish. Trips with Fishingmalta run year round and will see you fishing near the reefs and far offshore. The distance you travel will depend on the fish you want to catch, the weather, and the type of trip. If you’re after Dorado and Albacore that you’ll need to travel about 10-20 miles to get them, but some days will bring the fish much closer to the shore. Or, you can even head to the other side of the island for maximum results. You will be trolling and bottom fishing. Dead bait is readily available before the trip, but sometimes you might catch live fresh bait during the trip to have the best chances of landing a trophy size predator. Skippers Chris and Daryl will take a good care of you and your party. They know these waters extremely well and will make sure you have superb fishing. As for the trip, wear non-slip rubber sole shoes. As weather can change, it’s best to bring a jacket and a long pair of trousers, and dress in layers. Make sure to bring sunglasses, a hat, and sunscreen. Pack a camera as you’ll want to get a good angle of your catch. All fuel, permit, skipper fees, fishing tackle, bait, drinks are included in the trip prices. Get your fishing buddies and come along for top-class fishing in these waters!
